Creative Ways to Fund Your Conference Journey
Sponsoring Ideas
Ask your pastor if he would be willing to cover the cost of the admission ticket. Or if he can’t cover all of the ticket, ask if he would cover half of the ticket price and use that covered half as motivation to give to others to match the donation!

Check with Your Friends on Social Media
Get the total amount you need to raise for a conference ticket, hotel and flight (if needed) and post away on social media asking your friends to give! Use cash apps like Venmo or Zelle to collect your funds and keep updating your status as people give so they can see the remainder to raise in real time!
Invite local businesses or individuals to sponsor your ticket! You can write and print letters and mail them out to everyone you know. Or you can send an email to them with the ways they can give.

Raising Fund Ideas:
-
Plan a fun challenge or activity and ask for pledges or donations. Ideas could include a walk-a-thon or a bike-a-thon. Collect pledges for each mile you walk, run, or bike. Another creative way is to commit to writing personalized notes of encouragement for a specific number of people and ask for sponsorships per note. You could drop encouraging notes on cars, in the check-out line, or just use your imagination! You will probably have great spark stories to tell!
-
Do you have a special crafty skill that could be utilized? You could create and sell small, meaningful, grace-themed items like bracelets, keychains, handmade cards with inspirational messages, baked goods, or you could even design a special t-shirt purchase at wholesale and then sell at retail!
-
Distribute jars to friends, family, and church members. Ask them to collect spare change for a month and give it back to you at the end of the month. You’ll be surprised how much funds you can raise with spare change!
-
Use your skills to host a mini-event or service in exchange for donations, such as a craft night or cooking class, a babysitting or parents' night out event, a simple photography session for family portraits or do gift wrapping service at Christmas time! Charge a small fee to participants, with all proceeds going toward your ticket.
-
You may have used scripture jars in your Embrace Grace groups. People love these, and they are easy to make! Print out powerful scriptures on small paper strips and fold them up individually. Fill up a cute mason jar full of the scriptures and tie a cute bow on it, and it’s good to go! You can sell them on social media, or you can ask your pastor to set up a table at the church to sell them and help raise funds for your conference! Feel free to use our scripture template that you can find here!
Raising Fund Ideas for Multiple Leaders from Your Group to Attend:
-
Gather items from your community and have a garage sale at your house, or ask your church to host! Let people know that all proceeds go toward your Embrace Grace conference ticket and expenses!
-
A few days before Christmas, get all your leaders together and have all the leaders send out emails and social media posts inviting people to bring their unwrapped gifts to the church or a house for gift wrapping services! Charge an amount per item wrapped and ask people to throw in extra for a good cause! Check with local retail companies in the area if they would like to donate Christmas wrapping paper and trimmings for the special event!
-
Have people donate baked goods, Sell baked goods, snacks, or meals at community events or one specific event and sell them to raise funds for the conference!
Creative Strategy Ideas to do the Ask:
-
Reach out to your network to sponsor part of your ticket, such as: $30 from 10 people or $50 from 6 people. Break down the goal into small, manageable asks, making it feel more achievable for donors.
-
Calculate the total distance of your trip and ask for sponsorship per mile (e.g., $10 per mile).
